The small town of Gotha, Florida was founded in 1885, by German immigrant H.A. Hempel. The main road in Gotha is named Hempel Avenue in his honor. Upon buying this land, he laid the modern town of Gotha out and named it after his birthplace in Germany. Eventually, other German and German-American families were persuaded to move to his town, and the Town of Gotha began to grow.

Gotha served as the busiest train station in Central Florida, prior to the explosion of neighboring Winter Garden.
The real beauty of Gotha these days lies in its small-town feel while having a central location. You are sandwiched in between Windermere and Winter Garden. The median income in Gotha is almost double than the state of Florida, and the average home in this upscale exclusive town costs significantly more, due to its great location, top-notch school system, and tight inventory.
