Ocoee is yet another one of the great areas in Central Florida. Located just outside Orlando, Ocoee has a long, interesting history. In the mid 1800’s, Ocoee was settled as an agricultural settlement with a small population focusing on the citrus industry.
The city continued with a tiny population for over a century. As a matter of fact, in 1960, the population of the city was a mere 2,500 residents!
The extension of SR-50(Colonial Drive) in 1959, and several other major roads and railways were what initially spurred growth in this beautiful city. In the 1990’s with the extension of Tollroad 408, Ocoee had everything it needed to explode with growth.
There are many home subdivisions in Ocoee. New home construction is very high in the city currently. Due to its close proximity to the City of Windermere, one of Orlando’s most exclusive neighborhoods, property values remain high. Several of the home developments are:
McCormick Reserve - Oversized homes, large lots, homes up to 6 bedrooms, ranging from mid $230’s-310.
Spring Lake Reserve - New homes from 3-6 bedrooms, ranging from $228,000-$293,000. Several of these homes are quick move in, meaning they are already built…just waiting for the right buyer.
Brynmar - New homes starting in the mid $200,000’s with floor plans starting at 2200+ square feet, and 3-5 bedrooms. Several of these have 3 car garages as well.
Arden Park - One of Ocoee’s newest gated communities, with homes between 2,000-5,000 square feet, located extremely close to the West Orange Trail. Homes here start from $267,000.
The Villages of Wesmere - an already built community of homes and town homes. This is a luxury community with homes going from 3-5 bedrooms, from $200,000 - $400,000.
There are many other great subdivisions and home developments in Ocoee and surrounding areas. With good schools, a close proximity to exclusive neighborhoods, downtown Orlando, and the West Orange Trail, Ocoee has a lot to offer to almost any potential homebuyer.
