Hey all!  I hope all is well in your world today.  Here in Central Florida, we just dodged a bullet.  We had a hurricane coming at us, just before it broke apart.  Although we are getting close to the end of Hurricane season for this year, it is important to stay prepared.  The following are some items you can keep in your home if and when we do get hit by another hurricane.
 
HURRICANE KIT
Flashlights 
Battery-operated lanterns
Batteries for all battery powered items.  I recommend at least two sets for each item.  
Matches/lighters  
First aid kit
Duct tape
Rain gear
Clock (wind-up or battery-powered)
Plastic garbage bags
Fire extinguisher

Extra blankets

HOUSE CHECKLIST
Remove outdoor items
Trim dead branches from trees
Board up windows
Fill gas tanks and extra containers
Get extra cash
Move furniture away from windows
Store important documents in waterproof containers
Extra supply of medicines  
 
FOOD AND WATER
Pack non-perishable food for each person for 3-7 days.
Bottled water (1 gallon/person/day) 
Two coolers: One for drinks & one for food
Canned foods
Manual can opener
